Ballparks America
Opened in 2016, Ballparks America pays tribute to several iconic American baseball stadiums as a collection of 2/3 scale mini replica ballparks showcasing each stadium’s most iconic attributes. The five legendary ballpark replicas showcased are St. Louis’ Busch Stadium, Boston’s Fenway Park, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Brooklyn’s historic Ebbets Field, and Detroit’s Tiger Stadium. Admission is free to witness some of the best 9U to 13U youth baseball teams from around the country battle it out for bragging rights in front of capacity crowds. From the Green Monster of Fenway Park to the green ivy of along the outfield walls at Wrigley Field, Ballparks America’s salute to these great American ballparks are a true bucket list item for any professional baseball fan.
Horse Walk at Dolly Parton’s Stampede
There’s no horsing around with this one. Here’s your chance to meet the 4-legged stars of Dolly Parton’s Stampede. While Dolly Parton’s Stampede does have an admission to see the show, the World-Famous Horse Walk is free to enjoy. You can get up-close and personal with the stars who create the spectacular majesty of the show. Depending on the time of day you visit, riders who perform with the horses during the show may be available to chat or answer questions about these majestic creatures. Typical hours are from 8am – 3pm but could change, so be sure to check before you go.
Scenic Overlooks
Breathtaking views from a mountaintop of the Ozarks are just a short ride from both Westgate Resorts. The tranquil car ride leading to Branson’s Scenic Overlook will take you on an intimate two-lane highway carved through lush hillsides filled with scenes of the stunning landscape. Ruth & Paul Henning Conservation Area
This 1,534-acre picturesque forest with scenic glades was purchased and donated by Paul Henning, producer of such timeless TV classics as the Beverly Hillbillies, as it was his wish to preserve the area for all to enjoy. The conservation area is ripe with history as post-Civil war vigilante groups, known as baldnobbers, would meet and patrol on the balds. It also served as the scene in Harold Bell Wright’s book Shepard of the Hills.
Table Rock State Park
By land or lake, Table Rock State Park is your destination for a natural getaway when you are seeking a thrilling outdoor adventure. Whether you bring your lunch for a picnic, fishing pole for the lakes, bike for the trails, or just a pair of shoes for a hike, a fun experience awaits you within the majestic mountainous scenery. Shrine of the Holy Spirit
Inspired and compelled by faith, this 100 ft. monument constructed of blue granite by local entrepreneur Gene Bicknell has been wowing visitors since it’s dedication on April 11, 2010. Mr. Bicknell constructed this monument as a labor of faith with the belief that this place of worship would be blessed by God. The grounds offer a peaceful place for prayer or meditation, a chapel that can accommodate up to 80 people and often holds different types of formalities, such as weddings, vow renewals, military ceremonies, etc. When the sun sets and lights illuminate the Shrine, it is truly a sight to behold.
