Mark Waltrip is Westgate’s Chief Operating Officer and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee. As Chief Operating Officer, Mark is responsible for the continued evolution of the Westgate brand as the industry leader in experience-based destination resorts and oversees resort operations, food/beverage & retail/spa operations, flight operations, security & asset management and Team Member Services. Mark also oversees Westgate’s corporate real estate and serves as one of the lead executives of Superbook Sports, one of the country’s most well-known sports betting operators.

Mark currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Westgate Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Victoria’s Voice Foundation as well as the Central Florida Region Commission for Homelessness. Previously Mark served on the Board of the Florida Special Olympics. Mark is also an accomplished author and chef having written two books: Recipes for Success & Culture of Success.

Mark joined Westgate in 1996 and has had a remarkable and diverse career that includes working in the space launch industry with Computer Sciences Raytheon where he helped develop the launch facilities for the commercial space program and was an engineer on the launch team for 12 Atlas-Centaur space launches. Mark served twenty years in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in program management and business reengineering.

Mark received his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado. He is a member of the National Honor Society for Aerospace Engineers and the National Honor Society for Engineers.
