The Two Best Branson Family Resorts Visitors Rave About

Through years of staying at various hotels, I’ve found the two places I feel offer the best deal for your money, plenty of amenities, great dining options, and an awesome location close to all of the great things to do in Branson.

While there are many different types of Branson resorts and hotels, Westgate Branson Woods and Westgate Branson Lakes truly stand out.

Not only are they perfect for romantic getaways and family vacations, but they often have special deals that can help you save more on your trip without cutting corners.

Reasonable rates aren’t the only reason I love Westgate Branson so much. What really captured my attention was their attention to detail, awesome location, and ambiance that truly elevates your entire stay. Instead of your hotel feeling like just a quick place to rest, Westgate really makes you feel immersed in the resort life and can become an extension of your trip.

The Best Branson Family Resorts You Can’t Miss

Whenever I’m planning a trip to the city, I’m on the lookout for things to do on a budget. It turns out that staying at a resort is so much better than a hotel because you get a ton of amenities built into your stay.

I’ll explore what each Westgate resort has to offer, so you can decide for yourself which one will make your next vacation one to remember.

1 | Westgate Branson Woods Resort | Westgate Branson Woods Resort is like a cozy cabin getaway bundled into a hotel. You’ll have amazing views of nature and the Ozark Mountains thanks to the property’s 145 acres of sprawling land. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re an outdoor lover coming to Branson.

Some of the flashier hotels in Branson can make you feel like you’re just in any other city. But Westgate Branson Woods Resort really captures that scenic, relaxing feeling you want to have when you visit the Ozarks.

Accommodations

The resort offers studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom villas, so there’s plenty of space for everyone in your party. Even the smallest studio has a mini fridge and coffee/tea maker, so you’ll be able to keep your basic groceries or take-out fresh and heat it up in the microwave.

I stayed here with my partner and kids for a four-day weekend, and it was complete bliss from day one. We rented a one-bedroom villa that had one king bed and a sleeper sofa for the little ones.

It was so refreshing waking up every morning to the sounds of birds chirping outside and then heading into the kitchen to make a hot cup of coffee and breakfast. We always looked forward to gathering in the living room and around the dining table to eat, talk, and play board games when we weren’t exploring the outdoors.

Amenities

The resort has a marketplace with snacks and premade sandwiches and salads, a Starbucks, and basic grocery items. There’s also a pizza place called Cordovano Joe’s Pizza that you can get delivered right to your room. Yes, you heard that right. You can get fresh pizza and wings brought to you to dine in the comfort of your own villa or suite. Talk about the good life.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always eager to answer questions or offer suggestions on things to do or places to eat. You definitely won’t have any trouble getting help when you stay here.

There’s a laundromat onsite while the one-bedroom deluxe and two-bedroom villas have their own washers and dryers in the unit.

As a bonus, this resort is also dog-friendly, including large breeds like our Golden Retriever, so you don’t have to worry about leaving your four-legged friend behind for your vacation!

Activities

As for the resort, there are so many fun things to do without needing to drive anywhere. We all fell in love with the gorgeous private hiking trails. Yep, this resort has its own trails, so you get that gorgeous Ozarks scenery without the crowds of some larger public trails.

Our family had so much fun walking through the trails at our own pace, taking in the sights and sounds, and really immersing ourselves in the peace of nature. But it wasn’t all rest and relaxation — there are several full-day excursions you can book!

If you’re looking for things to do for couples in Branson, I highly suggest booking the Local Branson Flavor tour. It’s an amazing day trip that consists of coffee and pastries for breakfast, followed by lunch at a local winery with romantic, gorgeous views of the Ozarks. The hubs and I took this trip while a family member watched the kids, and it was the perfect date activity.

Things to Do Nearby

Branson Woods is located near many of the top family activities in Branson, like the Dinosaur Museum, Silver Dollar City, the Titanic Museum, and Branson Landing. One of our favorite things to do when we stay here is rent a boat and head out to Table Rock Lake!

Overall, our stay at Westgate Branson Woods was fun and rejuvenating. We got to spend a lot of time together as a family playing on the sports courts, hiking, and just taking it easy in our villa that really felt like a home away from home.

2 | Westgate Branson Lakes Resort | I think Westgate Branson Lakes Resort is one of the best Branson resorts for families. Whenever friends ask me for recommendations on where to stay, I always suggest this resort if they’re traveling with kids. There are tons of activities and spacious rooms that make it easy to keep little ones and grown-ups happy.

Accommodations

You probably know how cramped a typical hotel room feels when you’re traveling with kids. They start to get stir-crazy with just a bed and maybe a couch to sit on. At Westgate Branson Lakes, you can actually book lakeside villas with one or two bedrooms that range from 719 to 1,040 square feet, making it the perfect size for a family.

That’s right, every villa has either one or two bedrooms, so no one has to be crammed into a small space with barely enough room for your luggage and the kids’ toys. Instead, you’ll have a separate kitchen and living area, bedroom, and bathroom, as well as the option to book a room with a balcony overlooking Table Rock Lake.

We went with a two-bedroom deluxe villa because we wanted the extra space and the best views.

The white and blue decor is tranquil and instantly puts you at ease. The room included sleeper sofas plus two king-sized beds, so it could sleep up to eight people comfortably if you’re a large family. For our group of four, it was more than enough.

Oh, and I can’t forget that this place is pet-friendly! We were so happy to be able to take along our beloved dog. She loves visiting Branson as much as we do! The welcoming, homey feel of the villas also makes it so much easier to travel with pets.

Activities

Now, let’s talk about activities. Branson Lakes is one of the top Branson family resorts for good reason. It has indoor and outdoor pools, mini golf, shuffleboard, and full-day excursions (for an added price).

There’s plenty of room for kids to run around on the property, plus the day trips you can take make it even easier to have fun as a family without all the stress and hassle of coordinating events.

The fitness center, seasonal outdoor pool, indoor pool, sand volleyball court, basketball court, shuffleboard, and horseshoes round out the activities and give you plenty of options when it comes to spending your free time.

Amenities

The villas have their own kitchenettes with a stove, microwave, and fridge. There is a hair dryer, a phone, an alarm clock/radio combo, cable TV, and a DVD player in every villa as well.

The one-bedroom deluxe and two-bedroom villas all have a washer and dryer in the unit, and there’s also a laundromat and laundry service available.

As for dining, there’s a marketplace onsite with simple grocery items plus nearby restaurants like Paddle Wheel, the Branson Cafe, Devil's Pool Restaurant, Longhorn Steakhouse, and WA Kyoto Japanese Sushi.

You can easily get some food delivered to the resort or take a 15-minute drive to Downtown Branson for a bite.

Things to Do Nearby

The resort is close to awesome attractions, too, like Silver Dollar City (a must-visit), Lake Taneycomo, the Branson Dinosaur Museum, Table Rock State Park, and Branson Landing. It was super easy to get around with the kids and have a laid-back yet fun-filled time.

Staying at Branson Lakes was a dream. The villa was clean, the staff was helpful, and the location being slightly away from town made it more peaceful than a lot of other hotels we’ve stayed at in the past.

For anyone who wants a more chill trip to Branson with the idyllic lakeside views, I highly recommend this resort.

Why Westgate Has the Best Family Resorts in Branson

I’ve stayed at many different hotels and resorts in and around Branson. I love Westgate because the spacious villas and suites are just the beginning. Both resorts offer plenty of onsite activities and are close to all the best attractions. But they’re also secluded enough that you really feel like you’re immersed in the beauty of the Ozarks.

When it comes to kid-friendly resorts in Branson, Westgate ranks the highest in my books because the resorts are adaptive for all ages. You can easily bring along your travel crib or playpen for babies and toddlers, while there’s enough room for bigger kids to have their own space.

Overall, as a mama of two under 10, I think Westgate’s Branson family resorts make for an awesome vacation filled with fun, relaxation, great views, and good times.
