You probably imagined waking up to the hypnotic sound of crashing waves, spending lazy days by the beach and watching the sunset over the ocean skyline. You’ve made an excellent choice and are in for a treat! Westgate Myrtle Beach offers spectacular beach access which makes it one of our most sought-after destinations. Depending on the room you booked, expect a full or partial view of the ocean or Family Kingdom Amusement Park from the resort.

To help you enjoy every minute of your Myrtle Beach vacation, here are some ideas for your 7-day itinerary.

Arrival Day: Welcome Day. As you check into your room at the Front Desk, pick up an Activity Guide for the lineup of fun family friendly things-to-do in Myrtle Beach that have been planned by our team. Use the rest of the day to unpack and unwind from your travel. Order room service for dinner or visit Drafts Sports Bar & Grill for gourmet burgers, flatbreads, salads, chicken, ribs, and seafood meals. Another option is Cordovano Joe’s Authentic New York Style Pizza that serves fresh hand-stretched dough that can be ordered and delivered to your room or served in the Beachside Bistro. After dinner, take a stroll on the beach or through the resort. The real fun starts tomorrow!

Day 2: Beach Day. Grab breakfast at any of our resort eateries or order room service to start an amazing day. Spend a few hours on the beach and savor 60 miles of light brown coastline and gentle waves in sparkling ocean water. Take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean, enjoy family friendly activities like frisbee toss, volleyball, building sandcastles, picture taking, and surfing or simply lay on the beach for hours of relaxation. Whatever your pick, the beach offers endless possibilities for fun, memories and laughter.

Broadway at the Beach: If you’re not too tired after your beach day, spend the evening exploring the outdoor food, entertainment and shopping options at the complex. Always a hit with tourists, the center houses Hard Rock Café, a movie theater, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, piano bars, dance, comedy clubs, shopping outlets, restaurants, family friendly festivals and fireworks displays on select nights.

Day 3: Downtime at the Resort. Start your day with a picture-perfect morning stroll or jog along the beach. Nothing beats the freshness of the ocean breeze, sounds of cascading waves and seagulls to stimulate the senses before the sun makes her appearance. Go to the Activities Meet and Greet at the Activities Center located on the ground level of Tower 2000 to learn about planned events or jump right into your favorite option. *The lineup includes Canvas Painting, DIY Mirror Design, Movie and Pizza Party, Family BINGO, Wine Glass Painting and Slime Frenzy which is always a hit with little ones.

Pool: For a different experience, try the outdoor heated pool, oceanfront lap pool, Lazy River and children’s water play area if you are visiting with little ones. Take a dip, lounge with a good book or relax and take a nap. Day 4: Attraction Day. Walk across the street to the conveniently located Family Kingdom Amusement Park and Water Park. The entire family will love its 38 rides including Roller Coasters, Go-karts, rides specially designed for little ones, and Ferris Wheels that offer panoramic views of the ocean and the entire Grand Strand. The water park also offers slides, and a lazy river for added entertainment. Plan on spending half of the day here for the full experience.

Golf: If you are a golf enthusiast, you probably know that Myrtle Beach is the Golf Capital of the World. There are more than 100 courses to choose from with many designed by big names like Jack Nicklaus, and Arnold Palmer. Tee off on top notch courses and enjoy the experience.

The Carolina Opry: End the night at the first theater to be designated as “Most Outstanding Attraction” by the State of South Carolina. The award-winning show lasts 2 hours and blends high-energy music, comedy and dance in a state-of-the-art theatre highly acclaimed by USA Today, NBC Nightly News and CNN. The live music ranges from country to show tunes and gospel music.

Tip: Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience at any of Myrtle Beach's escape rooms where you will be "locked in" and must escape before time runs out!

Day 5: Resort Day and Attractions. Start your day at the resort. Stay active at the Fitness Center which offers state-of-the-art equipment, jog along the beach or swim laps in the resort’s oceanfront lap pool. Whatever your pick, you should have a refreshing start to the day.

More Attractions: Today is the day to venture out and choose your fun from the countless attractions that Myrtle Beach offers. Depending on your interests, choose from the NASCAR Racing Experience at Myrtle Beach Speedway, Pirate’s Adventure of Myrtle Beach, Radical Ropes, Ripley’s 5 D Moving Theater, SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Carolina Backwoods ATV Adventure Tours and so much more for a day of fun and exhilaration.

Day 6: Beach Day and Shopping. Spend another relaxing day by the beach. Swim in the ocean, surf, frolic on the sand, or lay by the tranquil waters. There are endless possibilities for a seaside adventure.

Myrtle Beach Shopping: Treat yourself to Myrtle Beach’s brand of retail therapy. There are over 100 stores at Coastal Grand Mall, and over 60 stores at the modern Myrtle Beach Mall. Barefoot Landing on the Intracoastal Waterway located in a natural bird sanctuary setting offers a fascinating scene with over 75 shops. The newly renovated Inlet Square Mall has more than 20 stores, while Hudson’s Flea Market on Surfside Beach sells gifts, souvenirs and more.

Day 7: Surf and Turf Day. We highly recommend that you spend your last vacation morning by the ocean since your heart was set on a beach getaway. Spend a few hours of your last vacation day soaking in the sea, sun, and sand while creating beautiful vacation memories.

Sightseeing: Later, spend your afternoon soaking up the sights and scenes of Myrtle Beach. Explore the maritime forest at Myrtle Beach State Park. Discover nature trails and fishing in this hidden gem. If you prefer less crowd, you will appreciate fewer visitors here compared to the city’s main shoreline. Huntington Beach State Park is another peaceful beach with less visitors and a more private experience. The secluded beach is 3-miles long and offers hiking, bike trails, a nature center and picnic areas for gatherings. See also the sights at Brookgreen Gardens. The 9,100-acre property is the largest sculpture garden in the world with 550 works by famous American sculptors like Daniel Chester French. Home to the Lowcountry Zoo, a cypress swamp, and aviary, it also houses nature trails and a butterfly house. If you are a nature lover at heart, this visit should be added to your list!
